Delete Account and Data
This page explains how to delete your Method Strength account (provider: Markus Stolzenburg, sole proprietorship) and the associated data.
Option 1: Delete in the app (immediate)
If you have the app installed or the website open, you can delete your account yourself:
- Open Settings (gear icon in the header)
- Scroll to the Account section
- Tap Delete account and data
- Type the word DELETE in the dialog
- Confirm with Delete permanently
Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no waiting period, no deactivation, and no way to undo it. You are signed out straight away.
An internet connection is required.
If you have a subscription:
- Subscription via our website (Stripe): Cancelled automatically before your account is deleted. Nothing further to do.
- Subscription via the App Store or Google Play: We cannot cancel these for you. The dialog tells you so and requires explicit acknowledgement. Cancel it yourself in the App Store or Play Store — otherwise you will keep being charged.
If you signed up with "Sign in with Apple": An entry for Method Strength remains in your Apple ID settings, which only you can remove. The dialog shows the path: Settings → [your name] → Sign in with Apple → Method Strength → "Stop Using Apple ID".
Option 2: Request deletion by email
You do not need to have the app installed.
- Send an email to contact@methodstrength.app
- Subject: Account deletion
- Send it from the address you registered with. This lets us identify you without asking for further information.
You will receive a confirmation. Via this route, deletion is carried out without undue delay, at the latest within 30 days of your request.
Data that will be deleted
- Your account and login credentials
- Profile data: name, date of birth, training goal, equipment, units
- Health-related data: physical limitations, menstrual cycle and menopause information
- All training plans
- All workout logs including weights, reps and notes
- Personal records
- Weekly and monthly reviews
- AI feedback and overtraining alerts
- Your AI usage counters
- Push notification tokens for your devices
- Your contact record at our email service provider (see "Newsletter")
Data stored locally on your device can also be removed by you at any time — via your browser settings (clear site data) or by uninstalling the app.
Data we are required to retain
We are legally required to retain certain records. These are excluded from deletion:

Payment data is additionally held by our payment providers: Stripe (web subscriptions) and Apple and Google (in-app purchases). These are subject to their own retention obligations. We cannot delete them on their behalf.
Retained records contain billing data only — no training or health data.
Newsletter
If you delete your account, your contact record at our email service provider is removed as well — you will no longer receive marketing emails.
Independently of that, you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email, without deleting your account.
